Account & Settings
A: Tap “Sign Up” in the app and enter a valid email. You must be 13 or older
A: Use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page and follow the instructions to reset your password.
A: Yes, go to your account settings to update your email at any time.
Posting & Content
A: All posts must follow our Terms of Service. Casual swearing like “shit” is allowed. Obvious parody or absurd humor is okay, but hate speech, racial slurs, or sexual content is flagged for review.
A: Content may be removed if it violates the Terms of Service. You can contact support to appeal the decision.
A: Yes! Ratchat supports links to platforms like YouTube, SoundCloud, Reddit, and Spotify, plus original content you create.
Moderation & Reporting
A: Tap the report button on any post, comment, or message. The report is sent to our moderators immediately. If theres no report button screenshot it and send it to support via email or direct messaging and we will take a look at it as soon as possible.
A: Alerts go out within 5 minutes, and offensive content is removed within 24 hours.
A: The blocked user cannot interact with you, and their activity is flagged for review by moderators.
A: Certain offensive words are automatically flagged and sent to moderators for review. Context is considered to avoid overblocking, especially for parody or historical references.
Safety & Privacy
A: Users must be 13 or older.
A: Your email is collected and used for account management, essential notifications, and spam prevention. Passwords are securely hashed. We may collect usage data linked to accounts to help improve the platform and ensure safe and effective moderation. No location data or advertising identifiers are collected or shared with third parties.
A: Moderators are regular users of Ratchat who can use the platform like anyone else. They also have the ability to see all posts and messages to ensure user safety and enforce community rules. This access is only used to review content flagged by the system or reported by users, and never for any other purpose.
